Maroon 5 is reportedly the 2019 Super Bowl’s halftime show. The band, which features Adam Levine and six other guys, is probably going to put on a pretty good performance — it’s Maroon 5 after all.
Why you should give Maroon 5’s Super Bowl halftime show a chance
Maroon 5 has hits, A-list cameo potential, and Adam Levine’s angelic voice.

It’s disappointing for the people of Atlanta that they won’t have a local sensation — say Migos — to come on stage and rile them up during America’s biggest sporting event. But also ... do we really think the Falcons are going to be one of the teams playing anyway?
Maroon 5 is the quintessential Super Bowl halftime show. They’re low-key, far from controversial and have a healthy number of hits your mom sings cruising down the cereal aisle. Songs About Jane is filled with nostalgia, the band’s newer hits have upbeat vibes and maybe if we’re lucky they won’t play the “Moves Like Jagger” song.
Best of all are the potential for on-stage features. Recently, Maroon 5 and Cardi B made a hit with “Girls Like You,” and that seems like the obvious choice should the band bring along guests. There are other choices too. Off the band’s latest album are “Don’t Wanna Know” with Kendrick Lamar, “What Lovers Do” with SZA and hell, even “Cold” with Future was pretty good. There’s plenty of opportunity for the Maroon 5 halftime show to entertain with hip-hop cameos.
Maroon 5’s performance can go from good to great with one simple decision:
PLAY.
SONGS.
ABOUT.
JANE.
A healthy compromise from the band and its alleged haters is to play hits from the album that will never not slap. The band’s first studio album will forever be its best. “She Will Be Loved,” “Sunday Morning,” “This Love;” those are songs everyone will appreciate.
Let Levine’s angelic voice bring us back to 2002.
Maroon 5 is a good choice for the Super Bowl with the potential to be great. Give them a chance.
