What was the first game you ever watched?
For some offseason fun, let's take a stroll down memory lane!
I'm from Philly and an Eagles fan. I came of age at a great time for the organization, as the Donovan McNabb/Andy Reid era set a new tone for the franchise in the 21st century.
I'm sure I watched a decent amount of Eagles games and NFL games overall beforehand, but the first game I have concrete memories of soaking up came in Week 16 of the 2001 season. I was seven years old. The Birds defeated a rival Giants team that had knocked them out of the previous season's playoffs and clinched their first division title since 1988.
It was a tight contest and what was going to be the biggest Eagles win of my young life almost ended in disaster. A last-second hook-and-ladder play for the Giants from Tiki Barber to Ron Dixon on a pass from Kerry Collins nearly worked. Dixon was tackled just short of the goal line at Veterans Stadium after time had expired, preserving the Eagles' three-point win.
Memorable stuff! What was the first NFL game you remember watching?
