Brian Rolston Clears Re-Entry Waivers
Half priced Brian Rolston just didn’t seem to appeal to anybody.
The expensive Devils’ forward cleared re-entry waivers this morning, despite the fact that while on re-entry, any team in the league could have had him at half price. Had a team claimed him, the Devils would be on the hook to pay half of his salary over the next two seasons, about $2.53 million.

Rolston’s been placed on re-entry waivers, meaning he’s available to the rest of the league at half price against the salary cap. The Devils would be on the hook for the other half for the remainder of his contract, which expires after the 2011-12 season, should a team claim him off re-entry.
Yes, the Devils plan is to pay a guy ~$2.53 million against the cap to play for another team. Desperate times, desperate measures and all that.
