2011 WJC, USA Vs. Canada: Curtis Hamilton Starts Canada Off Strong With 1-0 Lead
The American defense looked a little rusty with three Americans standing near Campbell, none of which could clear the puck out of the crease area. Jack Campbell was out of position after making the first handful of shots.
This game is still early for both Canada and the United States if it plays out anything like last year’s Gold Medal game did. A total of 11 goals was scored in that game and the Canadians lead the tournament with 32 goals scored in five games.
As a brief side note, the Canadian fans have made their presence known early with numerous chants. The Canadians have shown up for most of tournament in large numbers especially for games featuring Canada.
