According to the leading source on Devils news, Tom Gulitti at the Bergen Record, it appears as though Devils’ captain Jamie Langenbrunner is heading back to Dallas. The news will be announced with a 10:30 a.m. conference call.
Report: Jamie Langenbrunner To Be Traded Back To Dallas
The team did not say the purpose of the conference call, but a source indicated this morning that right wing Jamie Langenbrunner will be traded back to the Dallas Stars.
Bob McKenzie of TSN reported that a conditional third round pick is heading back to New Jersey in the deal. We’re not sure what the condition is on that pick.
Langenbrunner began his NHL career with the Stars in 1994, becoming a mainstay in the Dallas lineup in 1996-97. He was traded to the Devils in 2001, where he’s been since.
Langenbrunner is just four games shy of 1,000 in the NHL.
