The Winnipeg Jets and Chicago Blackhawks couldn't be coming off more divergent performances when they face one another on Thursday at the United Center. The Jets opened their season in their new home with a 5-1 loss to the Montreal Canadiens, while the Blackhawks overcame a season-opening loss of their own to put a 5-2 shellacking on the Dallas Stars.
Jets Vs. Blackhawks Preview: Game Time, TV Coverage And More
The Blackhawks host a Jets team that is coming off a 5-2 loss in their first game back in Winnipeg.
In the Hawks' win over the Stars, Dave Bolland scored a couple of goals and Patrick Sharp had a goal and an assist. The Hawks should also have starting goaltender Corey Crawford in net after he sat out a couple of days of practice to nurse a lower body injury. Just in case he can't go, Alexander Salak has been recalled from the AHL.
The Jets had a rough return to Winnipeg. Playing there for the first time since the original franchise was moved to Phoenix in 1996, they fell behind by two goals early, before Nik Antropov cut the lead in half. But the Canadiens responded with three unanswered third-period goals to put the game away.
