Jim Slater scored the first two goals of the game, but the Chicago Blackhawks scored the next four-in-a-row to down the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night, 4-3. Slater had the Jets in control early, scoring two goals in three minutes, but it all came crashing down for Winnipeg a short time later.

Andrew Brunette got one back for the Blackhawks midway through the first period, scoring on a power play to cut the Jets’ lead to 2-1. Patrick Kane tied it up late in the period, and the Blackhawks suddenly had all the momentum heading into the break.
It took all of 33 seconds for Marian Hossa to put Chicago into the lead as the Blackhawks picked up right where they left off to open the second period. Six minutes later, Dave Bolland made it a 4-2 lead for Chicago, putting the Jets onto the ropes. Kyle Wellwood cut the Blackhawks’ lead to one with five minutes to go in the period, but it was as close as the Jets would get.
