Canadiens Vs. Penguins Preview: Game Time, TV Coverage And More

The Montreal Candiens have just one win on the season, and they’ll be looking to turn that record around against a Pittsburgh Penguins team without a number of key players available

The Pittsburgh Penguins are managing well without a number of their top players, snagging 10 points from their opening eight games of the season, but they'll have a tough time getting a victory on Wednesday night, even at home. The Montreal Canadiens only have one win in their first five games, but they're a healthy team, which is more than can be said for the Penguins.

In addition to the suspended Kris Letang, Pittsburgh will be without Evgeni Malkin, Sidney Crosby and Dustin Jeffery once again. Tyler Kennedy is day-to-day with a concussion and not expected to play on Wednesday, while Brooks Orpik is nearly recovered from an injury and could possibly make his season debut.

Even without the men who will be creating for him all season in theory, James Neal is in stunning form, already netting six goals. He'll have a chance to add to that current tally if Carey Price's current form is any indication, but Price has actually been much better in the past against the Penguins than most teams.

Max Pacioretty has been fantastic for the Habs thus far, but their other stars are yet to get going. P.K. Subban is off to a bit of a bad start, as he sits at minus-five and leads the team in penalty minutes. Brian Gionta has been average thus far, while new signing Erik Cole has yet to make a serious impact. A matchup against a seriously depleted Penguins team presents a great opportunity for them to find their footing and turn their current form around.

Game Date/Time: Thursday, October 20, 7:00 P.M. ET

Venue: CONSOL Energy Center, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

TV: RDS (Local-Montreal), ROOT Sports (Local-Pittsburgh)

Odds: Habs +155 to win, Penguins -135 to win, Penguins favored by 1 1/2 goals
