If you're one of the folks that are afraid that hitting will be eliminated in Brendan Shanahan's NHL, fear not. Dion Phaneuf just absolutely obliterated Stephane Da Costa, and it was completely, 100 percent clean.

Rule 48 outlaws hits where the principal point of contact is the head, and in no way is Da Costa’s head the principal point of contact here. It’s a hit across the full body, it’s highly effective, highly entertaining and in no way is going to ruin Da Costa’s career. Solid all around.
In fact, it’s probably going to teach him to be a little more aware when coming across the blue line. Holy yikes.
