The San Jose Sharks continue the roll they started on Tuesday against the Phoenix Coyotes with three goals in the first period. Dany Heatley got the scoring started fourteen seconds into the first period to give the Sharks a 1-0 lead. Heatley’s goal was assisted by Joe Thornton and Douglas Murray. Ben Eager continued the scoring at the 7:34 mark in the period on a slapshot that beat Ducks goaltender Jonas Hiller on the glove side. The Sharks scoring finished with a Jason Demers goal at the 11:15 mark of the first.
Sharks Vs. Ducks: Sharks Continue Scoring Touch With 3-0 Lead After 1st Period
Jonas Hiller was pulled after the Sharks third goal and allowed three goals on seven shots. Curtis McElhinney relieved Hiller and has been solid in the period thus far in that he hasn’t had to face a shot yet in the period. On the opposite side, Antti Niemi has made all 11 saves of his own.
The Ducks have their chance to come back as its still early and they can point to the Sharks performance against the Coyotes on Tuesday as their point of reference.
