Entering Thursday's game against the Florida Panthers, the Ottawa Senators hadn't won a home game in 10 tries. Bobby Butler and Craig Anderson stopped all of that rather quickly. The new goalie in town, Anderson, has been more than impressive -- he's been almost perfect. He's allowed just one goal as a Senator and it came off of a funny bounce from his own team mate.
Panthers Vs. Senators: Craig Anderson, Bobby Butler Lead Ottawa To Second Win
Yes, Anderson has a .986 save percentage going as a member of the Sens. How’s that for a change in scenery?
Butler, one of the many youngsters playing on this Ottawa team in the wake of a complete dismantling by management, opened the scoring 11 minutes into the game. After Ryan Shannon scored in the second, Florida pulled within one on a tally from Chris Higgins, but Butler was there to assure that the Panthers didn't get any closer.
Not too bad of a shot there. That’s not listed as one of Scott Clemmensen’s 29 saves, obviously. Anderson made 23 saves in the Ottawa crease.
