The Nashville Predators are out to an early 2-0 lead over the Anaheim Ducks at the end of the first period. The Predators scored twice in the 16th minute of the period. On the power play, the Predators' Martin Erat put one past Ray Emery at the 15:00 mark. Only 38 seconds later, Jordin Tootoo widened the lead to 2-0.

The Ducks have barely gotten their offense going, taking only four shots so far. Meanwhile, Nashville has put 12 shots on net and made two. Pekka Rinne better stay sharp out there, lest he lose focus and allow an easy goal.
Anaheim had an early power play opportunity when Nashville's Jerred Smithson received two minutes for tripping Brad Winchester. But with the lack of many shots in the first period, it was a wasted power play.
Nashville is coming off a 5-3 loss on April 15 to the Ducks. The series is tied at one game apiece.
