Ducks Vs. Predators, Game 6: Replay Denies Patric Hornqvist Goal, But Nashville Scores Another To Take Lead

It was a pretty incomprehensible call following review, but the NHL’s War Room in Toronto determined that Patric Hornqvist of the Nashville Predators knocked in a puck with a high-stick early in the third period of Game 6 against the Anaheim Ducks.

The initial no-goal call on the ice can be excused -- Hornqvist’s stick was above the crossbar. But on review, it seemed clear to just about everybody that the puck struck the stick below the bar. Apparently, the evidence wasn’t clear enough to those who make the decisions.

So despite not earning a goal that should have counted, Nashville got it back just three minutes later when Nick Spaling’s second of the game beat Ray Emery. 3-2, Preds lead.

If nothing changes in the final 10 minutes of the third, the Ducks season will be over, but given the firepower these guys have, you can’t count them out just yet.
