For the fourth season in a row, they’re the best the Southeast has to offer.
Alex Ovechkin scored the 300th goal of his career in the second period to tie the game, and John Erskine score with about eight minutes left in the third to tie the game yet again before Mike Knuble scored the lone goal in the shootout to solidify the two points.

While the Caps have won their division for four straight seasons, the team that eliminated them from the playoffs a year ago is headed to the postseason for the fourth straight year.
The Montreal Canadiens officially clinched a playoff berth on Tuesday night thanks to an overtime victory over the Chicago Blackhawks. Rookie defenseman P.K. Subban drew a penalty in the extra session and then scored the game-winning goal on that power play to lift the Habs to victory -- and back to the postseason.
