Jarret Stoll is an incredible 9 for 10 in shootout attempts this season, and yes, that includes the winner in Wednesday's contest against the Phoenix Coyotes. Stoll added that shootout marker to a tally in regulation as the Los Angeles Kings squeaked an extra point out of the Coyotes to jump ahead to sole posession of No. 4 in the Western Conference.
Coyotes Vs. Kings: Jarret Stoll’s Shootout Winner Boosts Los Angeles Into Postseason
Oh yeah, and the 3-2 win gave them a playoff berth too. Not a bad night. The game was highlighted mostly by the goaltending. As he's done so often for the Coyotes this season, Ilya Bryzgalov kept his team involved, making 31 saves in the loss. Jon Quick did him one better, however, earning the win on 33 saves, including one big one on Lauri Korpikoski in the final round of the shootout.
For the Coyotes, the loss means they’ll have to wait one more day to clinch a berth in Lord Stanley’s playoffs. Their magic number over the Dallas Stars is down to one point.
