Patrice Bergeron Injury: Boston Bruins’ Center Returns To Practice

After sustaining a concussion in Game 7 of the playoff series with the Philadelphia Flyers, Boston Bruins' center returned to practice on Monday, 10 days after sustaining the injury. Unsurprisingly, Bruins Head Coach Claude Julien did not give an exact timetable on his return, and he has not been ruled in or out for Tuesday's Game 2 against the Tampa Bay Lightning, but it would be very uncommon to see a player return from a concussion the day after he is cleared to return to skating.

Rookie Tyler Seguin replaced Bergeron in game one, and his goal was about the only bright spot in the Bruins' big loss. Bergeron participated in non-contact drills, including power play and penalty killing drills, but Seguin worked with the first power play unit in practice. There's no chance that Bergeron was ever going to be rushed back from a concussion, but Seguin's promising play should take away any incentive that the Bruins might have had to bring Bergeron back too early.
