The Nashville Predators, facing defeat down 3-1 in their NHL playoff series with the Vancouver Canucks, fell behind early on Saturday in Game 4, but kept rallying back, scoring two goals in the third period to secure a win to stay alive for another day. Heading into the third period tied, the Predators finished strong, finding the net twice to take home a 4-3 win to cut the Canucks’ series lead to 3-2.
Predators Vs. Canucks Final Score: Nashville Staves Off Elimination With Win
David Legwand got the scoring started for Nashville with a shorthanded goal just three minutes into the first period. Raffi Torres answered for Vancouver with a goal of his own just two minutes later. Ryan Kesler made it a two-fer for the Canucks with just five minutes left in the first to give Vancouver the lead at the first intermission, 2-1.
The second period was low on goals, with David Legwand’s score the only one period, tying the score at two heading into the final frame. In the third, it was the Joel Ward show as he scored just a minute in to put the Predators in front. Ward followed it up with a second goal just four minutes later to give the Predators a little insurance, which would be needed. Kessler got one back for the Canucks with just over four minutes to go, but Vancouver ran out of time, falling to the Predators, 4-3.
The series heads back to Nashville for Game 6, set to take place on Monday. Once again, the Canucks appear to be having trouble closing a playoff opponent out after nearly blowing a 3-0 first-round series lead before winning Game 7 in overtime.
