Kris Versteeg Traded To Florida Panthers In Exchange For Draft Picks

Kris Versteeg has been traded to the Florida Panthers from the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for a pair of draft picks. The right wing is coming off a season in which he scored 21 goals and registered 46 points while playing for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Flyers, who gave up a 1st and 3rd round pick in the 2011 draft to acquire Vergsteeg in February. The Flyers will receive a second rounder in either 2012 or 2013, as well as a third rounder in 2012.

Versteeg played well in his time with the Flyers, logging seven goals and four assists in 27 regular season games and a goal and five assists in 11 postseason appearances. The 25-year-old has scored at least 20 goals in each of his three full NHL seasons. In his NHL career, he has a +/- of 13 after recovering from a -13 with the Maple Leafs to post a +4 with the Flyers.
