Russia vs. Germany, WJC 2013: Preview, TV schedule, game time and more

Russia will look to record a regulation win against Team Germany on Saturday.

Team Russia will challenge Team Germany in the World Junior Championship in Ufa, Russia, on Saturday.

Russia will be competing in their second game in as many days, as the team managed to defeat Team USA by a final score of 2-1 on Friday. After only registering two points in an overtime victory against Slovakia on the first day of the tournament, Russia managed to collect an important three points by defeating Team USA in regulation.

After opening the scoring less than three minutes into the game, Russia managed to hold Team USA scoreless until the 13:18 mark of the second period. With the game tied at one heading into the third, Vladimir Tkachyov put Russia ahead early in the frame, which proved to be the game-winner.

Against Slovakia, the Russians took a penalty in the closing minutes of the third period, which ultimately allowed their opponents to tie the game to force overtime. The same occurred against Team USA, but Russia managed to kill off the penalty.

Team Germany will be entering the contest after two disappointing performances in their opening games. Allowing a combined 17 goals against over two games, the team has only managed to produce three goals. With Team Canada and Team USA registering dominating wins against Germany, Russia will look to keep pace with a strong showing on Saturday in hopes of winning Group B.

The game will between Russia and Germany will be televised live in the United States on NHL Network at 9 a.m. ET and will be re-broadcast at 5:30 p.m. ET.

The game will be broadcast live in Canada on TSN.
