Kari Lehtonen Injury: Stars Goalie Hurt In Finland Loss To USA At World Championships
Dallas Stars goaltender Kari Lehtonen was injured at the IIHF World Championships on Sunday.

The injury occurred with about seven and a half minutes left in the third period of the game when American Bobby Ryan charged in on goal, lost an edge and went tumbling into Lehtonen. The net came off its moorings and Lehtonen was slow to get to his skates.
As the video shows, Lehtonen did indeed get back up on his skates and was able to make his way to the bench under his own power, but he left the game and was replaced in the final 7:33 by backup Petri Vehanen. Via ESPN Dallas, Finnish coach Jukka Jalonen told the media assembled in Helsiniki that “Lehtonen is injured. That is all I know.”
