Don Cherry returned to the CBC airwaves for Hockey Night In Canada on Saturday evening, the first night of the 2013 NHL season. He didn’t lose his touch, especially when it comes to the never-ending Canadian hockey vs. American hockey debate.

Don Cherry ranting about anything and everything? Yep, the NHL must be back.
Ron MacLean brought up the USA’s victory over Canada in the World Juniors, and, well...
MacLean: There’s 301 collegians in the NHL and I was thinking, because it’s an all-star team for Canada, thrown together, you don’t move the puck. The collegians, they say, NCAA, they spend time in the weight room, they’re quicker on the big ice.
Cherry: That is so-- you’re startin’ up with those theories already, the first one? That is so wrong. First of all, there’s eight guys who played for the U.S. team from the Canadian Hockey League. And I must admit, that the college hockey and U.S. development, they do train them for college hockey, and, uh, tournaments like that. We in the Canadian Hockey League work at making it to the National Hockey League. That’s a silly theory right off the bat. Stupid. Alright, let’s go.
So, he’s saying that college hockey trains players to play ... uh, college hockey, not the pros? Immediately after he was just told there are 301 collegians in the NHL? And yeah, eight guys on Team USA played in the CHL, so what about the other 15? Never change, Don. Never change.
