For some reason the Edmonton Oilers had their fourth line on the ice against Alex Ovechkin in the third period of Monday's game. This is never a good situation for anybody, especially the Oilers, seeing as how it's a laughable mismatch in terms of talent.
Alex Ovechkin hit on Mike Brown nearly sparks brawl
The Oilers had their fourth line on the ice against Alex Ovechkin on Monday night. It nearly sparked a line brawl.


The result was nearly a line brawl.
Shortly after Ovechkin was hit up high and knocked to the ice by Oilers defenseman Andrew Ference , he responded with this hit on Mike Brown in the corner.
Brown was not pleased and chased him down, starting a scrum that resulted in Brown, Luke Gazdic, Karl Alzner, and Mike Green getting sent off for roughing.
Ovechkin was given a two-minute minor for interference.
The Capitals went on to win the game 4-2 with Ovechkin also scoring his sixth goal of the season.
