Jason Pominville completes end-to-end passing clinic for Minnesota

This might be the most exciting play in the history of the Minnesota Wild franchise.

The Minnesota Wild have never been one of the most exciting teams in the NHL. Even when they found success in the early 2000s under Jacques LeMaire, it was never the prettiest brand of hockey as they won a lot of low-scoring games by clogging up the neutral zone and sucking the life out of the game. Winning ugly is still winning, and the Wild in those days just didn't have the talent to open up the game.

But thanks to last year's free agent signings of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter, as well as a nice collection of young talent breaking into the league, things are changing in Minnesota. They're not only starting to win again, but they're also starting to become a little more exciting on the ice.

This play in the second period of Monday's game against the Buffalo Sabres is a nice example.

Watch as they complete seven (seven!) passes on this end-to-end rush that finished with Jason Pominville beating Jhonas Enroth to give the Wild a 2-1 lead.

It was Pominville’s first game back in Buffalo since the team traded him to Minnesota at last year’s deadline, and that’s quite a way to make a return.
