Brent Burns boarding penalty on Brenden Morrow

Brent Burns gave the NHL something else to look at on Tuesday night with this hit on Brenden Morrow.

The big story coming out of Tuesday's St. Louis-San Jose game was Maxim Lapierre's hit on Dan Boyle that resulted in the Sharks defenseman leaving the game on a stretcher.

But it wasn’t the only controversial hit in the first period.

Not only after Lapierre's hit, San Jose's Brent Burns was guilty of this hit from behind on Brenden Morrow that resulted in Burns earning a two-minute minor for boarding.

Not only was this a meeting of the NHL's unbeaten, it's also provided plenty of viewing material for Brendan Shanahan and the league offices.
