The NHL announced on Tuesday night that Washington Capitals forward Jason Chimera has been fined $4,487.18 for boarding Edmonton Oilers defenseman Justin Schultz during Monday's game.

The NHL has fined Jason Chimera for boarding Justin Schultz on Monday night.

Chimera was issued a two-minute minor for boarding late in the first period of the Capitals’ win.
The dollar figure is the maximum fine that is allowed under the current collective bargaining agreement.
Schultz did not miss any time during the game and ended up playing more than 22 minutes for the Oilers. He was also in the lineup on Tuesday during their 3-2 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Chimera’s fine was the NHL’s second disciplinary announcement of the night on Tuesday as the league also suspended Buffalo’s Patrick Kaleta 10 games for his hit on Jack Johnson. The league will have a couple of more plays to review in the coming days due to Maxim Lapierre’s hit on Dan Boyle, and Brent Burns’ hit on Brenden Morrow from Tuesday’s action.
