    Ryan and Spezza each added goals later in the game, including a nifty goal from Spezza that included him setting himself up with a pass off the boards.

    The incident occurred early in the first period. Although there was no penalty called on the play, Penner was injured as a result of the hit.

    The fact there was no penalty called did not sit well with Penner as he took his complaints to social media.

The same club whose fans chanted “Alfie! Alfie! Alfie!” at the 11-minute mark of every period to pay their respects to the No. 11 on the back of Alfredsson’s jersey.

    Based upon the account of manager Bryan Murray, Alfredsson’s agent J.P. Barry tabled two offers; a one-year proposal for $7 million and a two-year proposal for $12 million ($6 million annually). The $7 million figure was established to compensate for the $3 million he lost in 2012-13 (his annual average salary was $4.875 million on that deal), in addition to the $4 million he wanted for 2013-14.
