Sergei Fedorov is coming out of retirement to play for CSKA Moscow of Russia's Kontinental Hockey League this Friday against Metallurg Magnitogorsk, according to Pavel Lysenkov of Sovietsky Sport on Wednesday afternoon.

Sergei Fedorov will be coming out of retirement to play in a KHL game on Friday.
The 43-year-old last played a professional game in March of 2012, when he dressed for Metallurg during the second round of the Gagarin Cup playoffs. He is presently serving as CSKA’s general manager.

Fedorov had a decorated professional career that spanned 1,248 regular season NHL games in which he recorded 1,179 points (483 goals, 696 assists). Originally selected with the No. 74 overall pick in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Detroit Red Wings, Fedorov went onto two Selke Trophies, the Ted Lindsay Award and a Hart Trophy as league MVP. In addition, he was on three of Detroit's Stanley Cup winning teams.
In 2003, he signed with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim as an unrestricted free agent, before being traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2005. He completed his North American career with the Washington Capitals before signing with Magnitogorsk in 2009.
The extent of Fedorov’s participation in Friday night’s game remains unclear at this time.
