Sean Couturier scores first goal in 25 games

Sean Couturier ended a 25-game goal drought in the second period against Ottawa. He needed a lucky bounce for it to go in.

With all of the focus this season on Claude Giroux and his lengthy goal-scoring drought, it was perhaps easy to miss that his teammate, Sean Couturier, was going through a similar slump.

Entering the Flyers' game on Tuesday against Ottawa, Couturier had not scored a goal since April 15, a stretch of 25 games dating back to last season.

Good news! That streak came to an end in the second period on Tuesday when he scored this bad angle goal against Robin Lehner to give his team a 2-0 lead.

No, it’s not the prettiest goal, but when you haven’t scored one in 25 games and have found the back of the net just four times in 65 games you’re probably going to take them anyway you can get them.
