Joffrey Lupul injury: Maple Leafs forward suffers groin injury in loss

Joffrey Lupul had to leave Toronto’s game on Monday with a groin injury.

Joffrey Lupul did not play in the third period of Toronto's 6-0 loss to Columbus on Monday night, and after the game coach Randy Carlyle revealed that the forward suffered a groin injury in the loss.

Lupul played 11:57 before leaving late in the second period with the injury, recording one shot on goal.

In 22 games this season he’s scored seven goals to go with eight assists and is one of Toronto’s go-to players offensively. If he has to miss any time, it would be a significant blow to the lineup.

Injuries have been a constant struggle for Lupul throughout his career. He’s played more than 70 games just four times. He was limited to just 16 games in the 2012-13 lockout shortened season where he scored 11 goals.
