Calgary Flames forward Curtis Glencross suffered a leg injury during the first period against the Pittsburgh Penguins, and will most likely not return to the ice on Saturday.
Curtis Glencross injury: Flames forward leaves game with injured leg
Glencross will likely not return during Saturday’s action, robbing Calgary of a veteran contributor.

The injury occurred in the opening minutes of the game as the Flames were on the forecheck. Penguins goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury offered the puck to defenseman Olli Maatta behind the net, and Glencross came flying in to lay a hit on the rookie. His leg buckled awkwardly as he fell, and he hobbled around in obvious pain as the play continued in the offensive zone until the referees blew the whistle.
The GIF of the play is below, but be warned: It’s cringe-worthy.
Glencross was helped to the locker room and probably won’t return. If it is indeed a serious injury, the Flames will lose a seasoned veteran forward with 12 points on the season.
