5 NHL questions: Red Wings without Datsyuk, Zetterberg

A daily NHL feature that asks five questions about the days games. Will they be answered? (And that doesn’t count as one of the questions.)

1. How will the Detroit Red Wings do without Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg?

The Red Wings were already without Pavel Datsyuk, but when they take the ice on Wednesday against Philadelphia they’re also going to be playing their first game without Henrik Zetterberg, which leaves a pretty big hole in their lineup. It’s hard enough to win without one of your two best players, but how will the Red Wings do without both of them?

2. Will the Flyers continue their winning ways?

Since starting the season 4-10 the Flyers are 8-3-1 in their past 12 games to work their way back into playoff contention. They’re on the road in Detroit and getting the aforementioned Red Wings team that will be minus its two best players.

3. Will P.K. Subban record a point for the Canadiens?

There is still some debate as to whether or not he will make the Canadian Olympic team, but Subban has been incredible for the Montreal Canadiens this season and is playing some of his best hockey in recent weeks. He helped save Montreal's 3-2 win over New Jersey on Monday by taking away a pair of goals, and he has 13 points in his past 15 games. Will he add to his point total when Montreal completes its home-and-home set with the Devils?

4. Will Radim Vrbata extend his point streak?

Vrbata is off to one of the best starts of his career with 24 points in 25 games for the surprising Coyotes, and he's registered a point in each of the Coyotes' past five games (and in seven of their past eight). Will he keep it going against the Calgary Flames?

5. Will the Flames win in regulation?

The Calgary Flames have just one win in their past eight home games: A shootout win over the Florida Panthers back on Nov. 22. They haven't won a home game in regulation since they defeated the Washington Capitals on Oct. 26. Will that streak end tonight?
