Minnesota Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck is going to be placed on injured reserve, according to Michael Russo of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune on Tuesday.
Cal Clutterbuck injury: Wild forward placed on injured reserve
Minnesota Wild forward Cal Clutterbuck has been placed on injured reserve, according to a report.
According to Russo, Clutterbuck will not be traveling with the team on their upcoming two-game western road trip and will likely miss at least four games.
Clutterbuck sustained a knee injury that required the use of crutches after Edmonton Oilers forward Taylor Hall made contact with Clutterbuck's knee in a knee-on-knee hit. The play resulted in Hall receiving a five-minute major for kneeing, as well as a game misconduct. The NHL's Department of Player Safety also decided to suspend Hall two games for the act, which resulted in his losing $9,729.92 of his annual average salary.
Clutterbuck required the aide of a stretcher to be removed from the playing surface.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the Wild have yet to officially announce Clutterbuck’s placement on injured reserve.
