The Philadelphia Flyers (9-11-1) will host the Washington Capitals (7-10-1) at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday night.

It will mark the second of three meetings between the two teams this season.
Washington managed to defeat Philadelphia by a final score of 3-2 when the clubs last met on Feb. 1. Nicklas Backstrom, Troy Brouwer and Wojtek Wolski each registered goals for the Capitals, while goaltender Braden Holtby recorded the win by stopping 29 of 31 shot attempts. Backstrom finished the contest with a game-high two points, while Wolski was credited with the game-winning goal.
Philadelphia's offense was supplied by goals from defenseman Bruno Gervais and forward Brayden Schenn. Ilya Bryzgalov was pegged for the loss and allowed three goals on 26 shots.
The Capitals will be entering Wednesday night as the last place team in the Southeast Division. However, the club has managed to record consecutive victories and has outscored its opponents by a margin of 8-1 over that span. The game will mark the beginning of a two-game road trip, which will also see the team travel to Winnipeg on Saturday night.
Washington has compiled a 2-5-1 record away from Verizon Center this season.
Philadelphia will enter the night off a loss against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday. Currently in the midst of a five-game home stand, the team has compiled a 1-2-0 record over that span and has been outscored by a margin of 12-9.
Wednesday night should mark the return of fan-favorite Simon Gagne, who the club acquired via trade with the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday afternoon. Head coach Peter Laviolette has yet to announce how he plans to use Gagne, but general manager Paul Holmgren made note of the player's two-way ability and versatility on special teams.
The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., ET and will be televised on NBC Sports Network and TSN 2.
