Blues vs. Oilers: David Perron’s ridiculous dive

Comical.

David Perron isn't really known at all for embellishing. Well, honestly, I'm not sure he's even well-known for anything outside of St. Louis. He's a hard-working player that provides some solid offense, that's it.

But he’s now the leading candidate for dive of the year.

As he spun away with the puck from Ryan Whitney, the Oilers defenseman caught him with the slightest of hooks. A hook, yes, but nothing egregious. And yet Perron went absolutely flying.

It was comical, to say the least.

Perron threw his hands up in apparent confusion after the play. That was his third penalty of the game, and it cost his team what could have been an important power-play opportunity.

C’mon, David. You’re better than that.
