Paul Stastny injury: Colorado star leaves game with foot injury

One of Colorado’s leading scorers left Sunday’s game after taking a shot to the foot.

The Colorado Avalanche have announced that Paul Stastny will not return to the ice in their game against the Vancouver Canucks.

Stastny left the game early after taking a slapshot to the foot from Canucks defenseman Jason Garrison. Stastny was helped off the ice and wasn’t putting any weight on the injured foot. The exact severity of the injury has yet to be announced by the team.

Stastny entered Sunday as the third-leading scorer for Colorado, with eight goals and eleven assists. He hasn’t missed a game this season for Colorado.

The Avalanche have three wins and seven losses in their last ten games, and were tied for last place in the Western Conference heading into Sunday’s games.
