The Carolina Hurricanes, New York Islanders and New York Rangers all enter competition on Monday night separated by one point in the standings. The Rangers are the only team that controls their fate. However, a Rangers loss opens up the possibility for the other two teams to gain control of the eighth seed.
2. How will the Detroit Red Wings respond to their crushing defeat at the hands of the Chicago Blackhawks?
Detroit allowed seven goals during their Sunday matinee against Chicago. With Detroit back in action on Monday night, we want to know if they are capable of rebounding from the disappointing effort.
3. Will the Blackhawks be able to follow up their effort or did they use up all their goals on Sunday?
Chicago will also be in action on Monday night when they host the Nashville Predators. Did they use up all their scoring on Sunday or do they have more in the tank?
4. How will Jordan Leopold perform in his debut with the St. Louis Blues?
Acquired by the Blues this weekend from the Buffalo Sabres for a second-round and conditional fifth-round draft pick in June's draft, Leopold is expected to make his debut with the team on Monday night.
5. Will the Edmonton Oilers extend their winning streak to four games?
Edmonton will host the Calgary Flames on Monday night and will look to extend their season-high three-game winning streak to four games.
