The NHL Department of Player Safety has suspended Ryan White five games for his hit on Kent Huskins.
White suspended five games

USA TODAY SportsThe incident occurred at the six-minute mark of the first period of Monday night’s game. White connected with Huskins’ head while the defenseman was attempting to set-up a breakout. Both players would not return to the game, as Huskins was diagnosed with a concussion and White was given a match penalty.
The Department of Player Safety requested an in-person hearing with White, which enabled discipline in excess of a six-game suspension. White accepted the invitation and attended the hearing in New York City on Wednesday morning.

USA TODAY SportsAn in-person hearing allows the Department of Player Safety to levy a suspension exceeding six games in length. As McKenzie noted on his Twitter account, an in-person hearing does not guarantee that the suspension will be that long.
Huskins immediately fell to the ice and was clearly disoriented. Despite standard practice by organizations to label injuries vaguely (upper- or lower-body injury), the Flyers announced before the start of the second period that Huskins had sustained a concussion.
