Rangers win thanks to deadline deals

Bruce BennettAfter all the excitement of the NHL trade deadline, the actual games themselves could have been a bit of a letdown - but that wasn’t the way it turned out Wednesday night as five exciting contests unfolded around the league. In the biggest story of the evening, three new acquisitions for the New York Rangers scored as the team blitzed the suddenly-reeling Penguins. Elsewhere around the league, the Flyers battled back to steal a game from the Canadiens, the Oilers totally dominated the Calgary Flames, and the Sharks edged the Wild to keep their winning streak alive.
