Penguins vs. Islanders Game 6 update: Pascal Dupuis equalizes for Pittsburgh

The Islanders were better, but the Penguins tied it up in the second.

The Penguins managed to even the score at 2-2 in the second period despite being outplayed by the Islanders. Crazy, right?

A little bit. The Penguins have been shooting themselves in the foot over and over with penalties in Game 6, yet the Islanders haven’t been able to capitalize. How stupid have the penalties been?

This stupid.

The Penguins took three penalties in the second period, yet somehow emerged unscathed despite getting outshot 16-9 by New York. A lot of it was pure luck (the Isles have missed a ton of shots up close and tight on Tomas Vokoun) but Vokoun has generally played well.

If you don't capitalize, the other team will. The Penguins taught the Isles that lesson with this speedy Pascal Dupuis goal midway through the second. It was Dupuis' fifth goal of the series, and it has the two teams knotted up at 2-2 heading into the third.
