Penguins vs. Islanders Game 6 update: Paul Martin’s goal keeps New York on brink

The Isles and Penguins will play in overtime in Game 6.

The New York Islanders are playing one heck of a hockey game, but they still failed to win Game 6 in regulation. Instead, Pittsburgh and New York will take a 3-3 game into overtime.

The Penguins are demonstrating once again that they are woefully deficient on the back end. The thought of a No. 1 seed's top defensemen abandoning a play in their own zone in the playoffs is hard to fathom. Yet that's exactly what happened on Michael Grabner's goal in the third.

Kris Letang is a Norris Trophy nominee. Somehow.

Anyways, the Penguins kept pressing to tie it again. Sidney Crosby came awfully close, but Evgeni Nabokov made a heads-up play just in the nick of time to keep Crosby from cashing in.

The Islanders weren't going to get away so easily, though. Paul Martin's shot from the point with five minutes left in the game deflected off Frans Nielsen to tie it up at 3-3. Tough break for New York, and they'll look to avenge it in overtime.
