USA TODAY SportsThe Red Wings had some of their best pressure of the game in the opening minutes of the third, and the Blackhawks fell back on their heels. As the period progressed, the two teams were fairly even, but Chicago thought they had the go-ahead goal in the final minutes:
Unfortunately for the Blackhawks, the goal was disallowed due to a whistle for coincidental minor penalties that came just prior to the shot. Regulation ended with the score tied, 1-1.

USA TODAY SportsFilppula ended up going down awkwardly and headed to the dressing room, and didn’t return to the game. Reports soon came in that he was using crutches in the dressing room with an apparent ankle injury, so his return is in doubt for Game 7.
The period ended without a score. Chicago had the edge in shots, 13-11.

Gregory ShamusFilppula hobbled to the locker room and is apparently on crutches. Was Shaw intentionally trying to injure him? Hard to tell, but it’s certainly worth debating, considering Detroit will be without one of their best players in an elimination game.
