Kings vs. Blues Game 4 update: Oshie gives St. Louis the lead, Elliott holds it

Brian Elliott was outstanding in the second period.

St. Louis might’ve taken the lead in the second period, but they very well could have given it up if not for an impressive effort by their netminder.

T.J. Oshie gave the Blues a 3-2 lead just six minutes into the frame with a goal on Jonathan Quick. Quick has been terrible at controlling his rebound so far, and it cost him on Oshie's goal.

To be fair, Oshie had to shoot that at the perfect angle to get it into the top corner, so good for him.

The Blues spent the rest of the period defending their lead. And by the Blues, I mean Brian Elliott. Daryl Reaugh mentioned that Elliott has been working on playing deeper in his net during the playoffs, and it's paying off in spades. The Kings outshot the Blues 13-9 in the second, but Elliott fought through deep screens and controlled his rebounds to keep St. Louis on top.
