Red Wings fans paid tribute to Gordie Howe
The Detroit great suffered a stroke on Sunday and Joe Louis Arena erupted for Mr. Hockey Friday.

Gordie Howe may be the most revered athlete in all of Detroit sports and Red Wings fans showed their support for "Mr. Hockey" on Friday night.
Howe suffered a "serious stroke" on Sunday at home in Texas and midway through the first period in the Red Wings' game against the Los Angeles Kings on Friday, the Wings showed a tribute video to Howe.
Fans responded to it with a standing ovation and chanted his name. They also held signs urging Howe to get well soon. Even Red Wings coach Mike Babcock couldn’t help but applaud.
The Red Wings themselves are doing their part to honor Howe as they jumped out to a 4-0 lead on the Kings in the first period. That’s just the way Gordie would like it.
