The Washington Capitals are one of the teams rumored to be in the Ryan Miller sweepstakes. It's unclear how much of an upgrade he would really be over their current trio of net minders, but on Tuesday night Michal Neuvirth was making his case to keep the job.
Michal Neuvirth robs Frans Nielsen
Maybe the Capitals don’t need Ryan Miller just yet.

Early in the third period he made a couple of nice saves against the Islanders, including a nifty glove save to rob Frans Nielsen (it's the second save on the Gif below, which comes via @CapitalsHill from our Capitals blog, Japers' Rink).
That series of saves kept the game scoreless for the time being. Unfortunately for the Capitals an Andrew McDonald shot beat Neuvirth just a few minutes later thanks in part to defenseman Karl Alzner providing an unintentional screen for his goaltender.
