No stick? No problem for Patrice Bergeron

Jared WickerhamAs Bergeron attempted a one-timer, his stick snapped in half, giving Montreal’s Rene Bourque what appeared to be an opportunity to take off up the ice on a breakaway. That’s when Bergeron, without a stick, went down and delivered this open-ice hip check, sending Bourque flying through the air.
Is that a good hit? A little too low? Going for the knee? Didn’t matter as the officials seemed to think it was all good.
