It's still too early for anything to really matter, but Dylan Larkin's success story for the Detroit Red Wings continues to grow with every dazzling play he makes. With Connor McDavid out of the Oilers lineup for the next few months, the Calder Trophy race is wide open for the NHL's best rookie, and Larkin has made himself known as a frontrunner.

It's hard to not notice a 19-year-old kid who has the poise and skill to rip off a nasty wrist shot against one of the league's best goaltenders. Larkin's latest came against Braden Holtby of the Washington Capitals, opening the scoring for the Red Wings three minutes into their game.

— Stephanie (@myregularface) November 19, 2015 Larkin sells the eventual goal on Holtby masterfully, slightly hesitating on the shot before firing a wrister just past the blocker of the netminder. It's a quick wrist shot for sure, but one that Holtby probably wants a second crack at.
