The Montreal Canadiens will be without their second-best goal scorer, as the team announced late Sunday that the alternate captain will have surgery on two broken fingers on his left hand. Gallagher sustained the injury blocking a shot in the second period of the team's 4-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Gallagher is clearly hurting on the blocked shot, shaking his glove off in pain after the shot hits. The forward never came back into the game after the block, and for good reason. The picture below definitely shows at least one broken and bruised finger.
