This is one we haven't seen before. In the first period of the Devils game against the Red Wings, New Jersey forward Jordin Tootoo missed a check and fell over the boards head-over-heels. While that's not a rare sight in hockey -- though it is quite funny -- what is even stranger is to see Tootoo called for a too-many-men penalty for the gaffe.

How does this even happen?
Tootoo didn’t even have a toe out on the ice when the penalty was called, making it even more bizarre. His teammates tried to keep him in the box, but the referees had already seen Tootoo’s absence from the New Jersey bench and called the penalty regardless.
