Sharks goalie robs Evgeni Malkin at point blank range

That save will go on Alex Stalock’s career highlights reel.

On the list of worst things an NHL defensive corps can possibly do, leaving Evgeni Malkin all alone in the slot has to be pretty high up there. The Pittsburgh Penguins star center is usually money in that situation.

We have to use the word "usually" because San Jose Sharks goalie Alex Stalock changed the narrative in a big way on Sunday. The Penguins found Malkin wide open just feet from the net, and Stalock somehow managed to leap over and make a fantastic save.
