Corey Perry leaves Game 6 with injury after collision

The playoff’s leading scorer went down in a scary incident.

The Anaheim Ducks briefly lost their leading scorer and the Conn Smythe Trophy favorite on Sunday when Corey Perry suffered a lower body injury in Game 5.

The incident occurred with four minutes remaining in the second period. Calgary Flames forward Matt Stajan and Perry were circling in the same area, keeping an eye on the puck when Stajan suddenly turned up ice. Perry wasn't expecting that, the two collided hip-on-hip and Perry fell to the ice in a ton of pain.

Considering how quickly Stajan turned up ice, it’s reasonable to assume he didn’t know Perry was there and the collision was accidental. At any rate, Perry clearly looked in all sorts of pain as he limped to the locker room.

And yet, he stepped back on the ice just a few minutes later. Because it’s the playoffs.
